Job summary

Bangor School Department at Downeast School is hiring Educational Technician I, II, or III for a 6-hour position (8:45 - 3:15). Authorization as an Educational Technician I, II, or III is required.

The role emphasizes behavior-management strategies and implementing IEPs within a self-contained/Choices program. Experience in elementary settings and with students who have emotional disabilities and autism is preferred.

Qualifications

• Authorization as Educational Technician I, II, or III required.
• Knowledge of behavior-management strategies necessary.
• Ability to implement behavior plans and individual education plans needed.
• Experience working in an elementary school setting helpful.
• Experience working in a program for children with emotional disabilities and Autism preferred.
• Ability to use Discrete Trial instruction preferred.
• Desire to work in a team-approach environment.
• Willingness to assist with toileting may be necessary.
• Willingness to learn and use physical restraint and Safety Care strategies.
• $21.47 - $28.36 hourly, depending on certification level and experience.

Responsibilities

• Support educational programming as an Educational Technician I/II/III in the Downeast School.
• Assist with implementing behavior plans and IEPs for students.
• Collaborate with a team of educators to support students in a self-contained/Choices program.
• Provide support for students with emotional disabilities and autism as needed.
• Learn and apply Discrete Trial instruction techniques.
• Assist with toileting and participate in Safety Care training as required.
