Job summary

University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Lincoln, NE seeks an Educational Specialist for the TRIO Upward Bound program in the Lincoln Metro area. The role focuses on creating individualized academic plans and providing targeted advising to help students prepare for college.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, strong communication skills, and the ability to drive a 12-passenger van. A commitment to supporting high school students and coordinating summer activities is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, community services, human development, or related field.
  • Experience providing educational learning activities—improve academic performance, organizes educational planning, and preparation for enrollment in post-secondary education.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to drive a 12-passenger van
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirement as well as a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree
  • Fluent in a second language other than English.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate with high school aged youth
  • Experience in working with school staff, and parents/ guardians.
  • Experience in assessing student needs.
  • Experience working with TRIO programs.
Posted Salary

$45,000/yr. minimum
