Job summary

Soliant is seeking an in-person Sign Language Interpreter to support a 10th-grade student throughout the full school year, with daily coverage in a four-period block schedule. You will interpret Geometry, US History, Focused Skills, and Fashion and Merchandise, enabling full participation and access to instruction.

You will work closely with teachers and staff, maintain confidentiality, and adapt to each class’s needs, delivering accurate interpretation across all activities and settings.

Qualifications

• ASL proficiency and ability to interpret complex academic content.
• Experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably high school.
• Professionalism and strong communication with students and staff.

• Certification through recognized interpreting bodies is desirable.

Responsibilities

Job description

Make a meaningful impact supporting student success as an in-person Sign Language Interpreter for a high school sophomore. The assignment runs throughout the entire school year, providing a stable and rewarding opportunity to build strong rapport and continuity with one student. You’ll work each school day within a four-period block schedule, supporting classes in Geometry, US History, Focused Skills (structured study hall), and Fashion and Merchandise.

Key Qualifications & Experience

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and ability to interpret complex academic content
• Previous experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly at the high school level, is preferred
• Strong communication skills and professionalism when working with students and staff
• Collaborative mindset and flexibility adapting to daily classroom changes
• Certification through recognized interpreting bodies is highly desirable

Responsibilities
