Job summary

ProCare Therapy is seeking a Sign Language Interpreter to support two students in Kingston, NY, providing high-quality ASL/English interpretation in a school setting.

You will interpret classroom lessons, discussions, and school activities for two students, each needing 5.5 hours of interpretation per day, helping them participate fully in their education.

Qualifications

• ASL and English proficiency required.
• Experience interpreting in K–12 settings preferred.
• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (national or state level) required.
• Professionalism, confidentiality and ethical boundaries.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible to school routines.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, impartial communication between students and school staff.
• Interpret academic lessons, peer interactions, assemblies and school events as assigned.
• Prepare for lessons by reviewing relevant materials beforehand.
• Collaborate with teachers and support personnel to foster an inclusive learning environment.
• Maintain professional boundaries and respect student confidentiality at all times.
• Monitor and report student engagement and communication needs as appropriate.
