Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a Sign Language Interpreter to support students at Horizon Elementary. This half-time (0.5 Horizon ES) role provides interpretation between spoken English and Signed English/ASL for students with IEP needs, under direct supervision of certified staff.

The interpreter will collaborate with the education team, attend trainings, and help ensure access to information in mainstream classes while upholding district ethics and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in an educational setting preferred.
• Ability to interpret spoken English into Signed English/ASL/PSE and vice versa.
• Collaborate with certified staff and participate in IEP-related activities.

Responsibilities

• Interpret for DHH students in mainstream classes.
• Convey content by interpreting between signed language and spoken English.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
• Attend in-services and participate in educational team meetings.
• Support equipment and classroom accessibility as needed.
• Report interpreter services usage to the education team.
• Assist with placement and seating to access information.
• Adhere to district policies and ICARE standards.
• Provide support for district staff/parents if licensed.
