Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter to support students and staff across Beaufort, Bluffton, and Hilton Head Island.

This contract covers the 2026-2027 school year, requires EIPA 3.5+, and offers a 37.5-hour week with placement at multiple campuses from middle to high school.

The interpreter will provide real-time interpretation in classrooms and school events, supporting accessibility and student success.

Qualifications

• Provide real-time sign language interpretation in classrooms, meetings, and school events.
• Support communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, teachers, and staff.
• Adapt communication approach based on student age groups (middle to high school).
• Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics.
• Experience in educational settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time sign language interpretation in classrooms, meetings, and school-related events.
• Support effective communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, teachers, and staff.
• Adapt communication approach based on student age groups (from middle to high school).
• Foster inclusive environments that empower students academically and socially.
• Maintain detailed records of assignments and participate in team meetings as needed.
