Job summary

The Soliant team is seeking a Sign Language Interpreter to support students onsite in a vibrant educational environment near Columbia, SC. This full-time contract role runs for the academic year from August 6, 2026, to May 26, 2027, with 37.5 hours weekly, collaborating with students and faculty to make communication accessible and inclusive while strengthening interpreting skills.

Qualifications

Current credential as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI).
Minimum EIPA score 3.5 and completion of the written EIPA portion.
Experience interpreting in educational environments preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt to varying student and classroom needs.

Responsibilities

Deliver accurate and effective sign language interpretation between students, staff, and educators.
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to support individualized student needs.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of interpreting.
Assist with fostering an inclusive environment that enables student participation in all aspects of school life.
Participate in meetings and professional development as needed.
