Job summary

SSC Services For Education is hiring a Maintenance Technician in Charlotte, NC for a full-time on-site role at Johnson C Smith University. You will perform skilled maintenance tasks, lead teams on projects, and ensure reliable operation of building systems.

Ideal candidates bring knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and HVAC, plus several years of institutional maintenance experience and Journeyman-level credentials.

Qualifications

• Four years of skilled trade school or maintenance vocational schooling.
• Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting.
• Two years of experience as a licensed Journeyman in the trade.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties related to facility engineering and maintenance functions.
• Constructs, maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical systems using tools and equipment.
• Supervises and leads a group of workers on a project.
• Maintains logs, performs rounds and completes work orders, tests and inspections.
• Serves as a member of facility emergency response team.
