Job summary

Kennedy Krieger Institute, Inc. in Baltimore is seeking an Experienced Educational Evaluator to join the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.

You will conduct educational evaluations, design and consult on educational rehabilitation plans, and coordinate community-based supports for patients and families. Qualifications include Maryland Teaching Certification in Special Education and a Master’s Degree in Special Education, with at least two years of teaching and one year in a clinical setting

Qualifications

• Maryland Teaching Certification in Special Education required.
• Master’s Degree in Special Education is required.
• Minimum of two years in teaching and one year of experience in a clinical setting with developmentally disabled children.

Responsibilities

• Reviews educational history, aptitude, interests and skills to guide placement.
• Formulates assessment findings and prepares transition documents.
• Refs patients to Hospital Instruction as appropriate.
• Consults with parents regarding findings and remediation/placement.
• Drafts reports summarizing skills, needs and recommendations.
• Acts as liaison between treatment team and Local Educational Agency; supports IEP/504 planning.
• Identifies discharge resources and helps ensure smooth transitions.
• Provides in-service instruction to schools and community agencies.
• Attends interdisciplinary team meetings and participates in follow-up activities.
• Participates in research activities as necessary.
• Participates in outpatient follow-up and program development committees.
• Works as a member of Outpatient Clinics with patient/family history reviews and recommendations.
