Position Summary: The IMPART Alliance (IA) team seeks an Educational Program Coordinator to support recruitment and career development of direct care workers across Michigan. Located within the College of Osteopathic Medicine, IMPART Alliance focuses on expanding and supporting the direct care worker (DCW) workforce. In Fall 2023, IMPART received a major grant to establish a Direct Care Career Center. IA is committed to advocacy for DCWs, providing high-quality, person-centered home care to older adults and persons with disabilities, and promoting wellbeing throughout life.
The highly motivated Educational Coordinator will develop and coordinate educational and career advancement activities, recruitment, and community partnerships. They will serve as a liaison between the IA/Career Development Division and prospective students, DCWs, partners, and employers to enhance job opportunities and success. Responsibilities include developing marketing and promotional materials to support public relations and community engagement efforts, assisting in the development and execution of a DCW Career Development and Success program, and supporting the establishment of a DCW Training and Credentialing Infrastructure in Michigan. The role also involves advocating for DCWs and programs focused on lifelong wellbeing and community health, with an emphasis on diversity, inclusivity, and respect.
This is an off-dated position ending on 3/30/2026, with potential for extension based on funding.
The Coordinator will interact with: DCWs, DCS Employers, IA Partners, Faculty, the Public, Support Staff/Interns/Volunteers, Program Participants, Co-workers/Supervisors, Speakers/Artists, Public Agencies and Professionals, Committee Members, University Representatives, Media Representatives, and Vendors.
Minimum Requirements: A four-year college degree in Educational Theory and Methodology, Marketing, Communications, or related fields, plus at least one year of experience in planning seminars, conferences, public relations, training materials, budget and records management, and familiarity with database, spreadsheet, word processing, desktop publishing, HTML, and website management. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
Desired Qualifications: Experience developing marketing plans, outreach, and recruitment statewide, especially targeting marginalized populations such as rural communities, Veterans, Tribal organizations, aging agencies, mental health agencies, immigrants/refugees, health systems, and educational organizations. A valid driver’s license may be required.
