Position SummaryThe IMPART Alliance (IA) team seeks an Educational Program Coordinator to support the recruitment and career development of direct care workers across Michigan. Housed within the College of Osteopathic Medicine, IMPART Alliance, is an organization focused on expanding and supporting the direct care worker (DCW) workforce. In the Fall of 2023, IMPART was awarded a major grant to establish a Direct Care Career Center. IA is committed to advocacy on behalf of DCWs, provision of high quality, person-centered home-care to older adults and persons living with disabilities and creating wellbeing throughout life.
The highly motivated and skilled Educational Coordinator will play a key role in developing and coordinating educational and career advancement activities, recruitment, and building relationships with community partners. Serve as the liaison between the IA/Career Development Division and prospective students, DCWs, partners, and employers to enhance job opportunities and success for DCWs. Assist in developing and implementing marketing, promotional programs, and materials to support public relations and community engagement efforts. Assisting the Project Director with development, execution, and management of a Direct Care Worker (DCW) Career Development and Success program as part of establishing a DCW Training and Credentialing Infrastructure (TCI) in Michigan, advocacy on behalf of DCWs and programs focused on lifelong wellbeing and community health. The coordinator will assist in development and execution of strategies that are purpose-driven, elevate marginalized people, and promote respect, diversity, inclusivity, and belonging.
This off-dated position has an end date of 3/30/2026 with the possibility for extension based on funding.
The Coordinator will interact with: Direct Care Workers (DCWs), DCS Employers, and IA Partners, Faculty - to discuss programs and share information. Public - to disseminate information about IA events, and career opportunities. Support Staff/Interns/Volunteers - to direct the progress of programs and projects. Program Participants - to respond to questions about programs. Co-workers/Supervisors - to discuss current work and develop new projects. Speakers/Artists - to coordinate hospitality and residency arrangements. Public Agencies and Professionals - to develop and plan programs, apply for grants and exchange information. Committee Members - to exchange information. University Representatives - to coordinate and implement programs. Media Representatives - to coordinate program promotion. Vendors.
Minimum RequirementsKnowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Educational Theory and Methodology, Marketing, Communications, and/or a specialization in the designated area of expertise; one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in planning and overseeing seminars and conferences including public relations, organizing and disseminating training materials and information both written and web- based; budget and records maintenance and computer support; experience in database, spreadsheet, word processing, desktop publishing, knowledge of HTML programming and web site development and management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired QualificationsExperience developing marketing plans and performing outreach and recruitment activities statewide, with a focus on marginalized populations. Including but not limited to rural communities, Veterans, Tribal organizations, aging agencies, mental and behavioral health agencies, immigrants/refugees, health systems, Universities and other educational organizations. May require valid vehicle operator's license where needed to perform duties of the position.
