Job summary

The School District of Lee County in Fort Myers, Florida is seeking a Coordinator, Professional Standards to lead background screening, compliance, and investigations for district employees. You will collaborate with DOE and other agencies to ensure legal adherence and fair processes.

This full-time role requires a Master’s in a relevant field, plus teaching/administrative experience and potentially Lean Six Sigma certification.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in educational administration, personnel management, or human resources.
• Three years of Highly Effective/Effective teaching experience, school-based administrator experience, and/or related experience preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inquiries and investigations of employee complaints and misconduct to ensure fair due process and timely resolutions.
• Participate on assigned Strategic Goal committees.
• Review/analyze investigation data and generate reports as requested.
• Maintain contact with DOE officials and other state agencies to ensure compliance with laws.
• Adhere to safety procedures and regulations.
• Plan and implement background screening projects in compliance with laws.
• Manage quarterly random alcohol/drug testing for CDL/safety positions.
• Assist with ADA accommodations process for new/existing employees and applicants.
• Coordinate annual fingerprinting program with schools and divisions.
• Develop tracking databases to support divisional requirements.
• Train divisional personnel on background screening legal requirements and standards.
• Remain current with local, state, and federal background regulations.
• Serve as Predetermination Hearing Officer as needed.
