Job summary

Douglas County School District's Sand Creek Elementary is seeking an Educational Assistant (EA IV) for the Significant Support Needs (SSN) program. Under supervision of a licensed special education teacher, you will provide intensive, individualized support to students with SSN, including those with cognitive disabilities and possible medical needs.

You will assist with academic and life skills instruction, support personal care and medical needs, ensure safety and engagement, and help promote

• Follow written and verbal instructions for implementing IEPs, health plans, and behavior protocols with fidelity.
• Strong commitment to student dignity, safety, and promoting independence.
• Assist students with personal care, toileting, and mobility, including lifting and transferring (with training).

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of IEP goals and functional skills in collaboration with the Special Education Teacher.
• Assist SSN students across settings to ensure access to accommodations and reinforce instruction.
• Support daily living and functional skills, including dressing, feeding, toileting, and hygiene.
• Aid communication using sign language, PECS, and AAC devices.
