Job summary

Honey Brook Elementary in the Twin Valley School District (Elverson, PA) is seeking a Permanent Instructional Assistant to support certified staff and assist students toward their educational goals.

The role involves implementing IEPs, communicating with teachers, documenting student progress, and helping with classroom activities, behavior plans, and safety procedures. CPR/CPI/First Aid and state clearances are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 48 college credits or a high school diploma with Para Ed Certification.
• Pennsylvania State Police Clearance required.
• Child Abuse Clearance required.
• CPR, CPI and First Aid Certification required.
• FBI Fingerprinting/School Health Form: Physical and Tuberculosis Test.
• Pennsylvania Department of Education Form 6004: Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification.

Responsibilities

• Participate in implementing each student's education program as outlined in IEPs.
• Communicate with teachers and staff about student needs.
• Provide solutions to classroom-related issues.
• Document information on students' needs, strengths, gains, and problems.
• Follow behavior support plans.
• Escort students to lunch and events.
• Supervise students during meals, gym, recess, and field trips.
• Support students in inclusive classes with necessary modifications.
• Oversee students during bus arrivals/departures.
• Participate in IEP/evaluation meetings and training sessions.
• Assist with daily living activities and personal care.
• Handle administrative duties as directed e.g., recording grades, preparing materials.
• Promote a safe and orderly classroom environment.
• Adhere to ESS and unit policies.
