Job summary

Seton Catholic Schools in Milwaukee, WI is hiring an Educational Assistant to support the lead teacher in maintaining a safe classroom culture and reinforcing academic and social expectations.

You will help deliver high-quality, differentiated instruction aligned with the school curriculum, participate in planning, and receive in-school professional development and coaching from principals. This 10-month, hourly, non-exempt position reports to the Principal at St. Roman.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work with diverse students; multilingual preferred.
• Commitment to Seton Catholic Schools mission.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher during instruction and monitor on-task behavior.
• Conduct daily instruction with students one-on-one or in small groups; focus on literacy and math.
• Prepare materials; track attendance, set up equipment, make copies, create displays, process paperwork, record progress and grades.
• Participate in classroom planning, lesson preparation and assessment development.
• Provide input to teachers for parent/guardian meetings on academic progress and behavior.
• Supervise students during specials, meals, recess, field trips, Mass and other activities.
• Assume leadership responsibilities when the lead teacher is absent.
