Job summary

Seton Catholic Schools in Milwaukee is seeking an Educational Assistant to support the lead teacher and help create a safe, engaging classroom environment. This role involves providing high-quality, differentiated instruction and assisting with daily classroom operations.

You will work with students from diverse backgrounds, assisting with literacy and math, preparing materials, tracking attendance, and supporting school-wide events and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bilingual or multilingual ability preferred.
• Experience with students from diverse backgrounds preferred.
• Ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher during whole group instruction and check for understanding.
• Conduct daily instruction with students one-on-one or in small groups; focus on literacy and math.
• Prepare materials, track attendance, set up equipment, and record student progress.
• Participate in lesson planning and assessment creation.
• Provide input to the lead teacher for parent/guardian meetings on student progress.
• Supervise students during specials, meals, Mass or field trips as assigned.
• Assume classroom leadership when the lead teacher is absent.
• Model exemplary character, self-esteem and self-discipline.
