Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Valid Ohio DOE license: Associate – Interpreter of Hearing Impaired.
• Fluent in American Sign Language.
• Knowledge of child development and language development.
• Must pass BCII and FBI background checks before employment.
• Ability to travel to multiple work locations in a day.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Background checks clean and free from communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with students about education under teacher/administrator direction.
• Attend student activities and facilitate communication with peers and staff.
• Prepare and deliver effective interpretation to support instruction and assessments.
• Collaborate with educational staff and participate in IEP/ETR processes.
• Maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines for records/files.
• Assist with self-help skills as needed and report concerns to supervision.
