Job summary

ESC ESC of Northeast Ohio in Independence, OH seeks an Educational Interpreter of the Deaf (ASL) for a full-time assignment. The role requires interpreting for a student across inclusive, mainstream, and self-contained settings, 6.5 hours daily.

Qualifications

• Ohio DOE Associate License for the Hearing Impaired required.
• 2 years of college coursework or higher, or an Associate's degree, or high school diploma with ParaPro.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide ASL interpreting for a student in inclusive, mainstream, and self-contained settings.
• Interpret all class activities during the contracted day (lectures, discussions, films/videos, assemblies).
• Collaborate with the educational team; review lesson plans and provide in-service for staff.
• Maintain confidentiality per district policy and RID Code of Conduct.
