Job summary

Ohio Education Association seeks an Organizer to assist in retainment, engagement and recruitment of members, including developing organizing campaigns and strategies, communication materials, and training. This position also provides support to local units in the representation and enrollment process, post-election activities as well as establishing organizational structure.

The role requires strong leadership, exceptional writing and public speaking skills, and willingness to travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with 3–5 years of organizing experience.
• Experience planning, executing, and evaluating organizing activities.
• Knowledge of contemporary organizing campaigns and models.
• Understanding of public education issues and union interests.

Responsibilities

• Develops organizing campaigns and strategies.
• Creates materials, presentations, and publications for campaigns.
• Trains local units for elections and representation.
• Assists in enrollment and post-election activities.
• Establishes local organization structures and bylaws.
• Collaborates with field staff to grow and support locals.
