Job summary

Westtown School in West Chester, PA, is seeking a Technology Support Specialist to assist students, families, faculty, and staff with technology use across programs. This full-time role reports to the Director of Information Technology and emphasizes problem solving, training, and clear communication.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of productivity and educational software, multiple operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Chrome OS, iOS, Android), and experience creating user-friendly instructions

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree required.
• Minimum three years’ experience providing technical support, preferably in an academic environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• A demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
• Experience developing and delivering technical training.
• In‑depth knowledge of computer and mobile operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Chrome OS, iOS, Android).
• Familiarity with educational software platforms, including LMS and SIS.
• Commitment to using technology to enhance an inclusive school community based on cultural competence and respect for all voices.
• Team-oriented spirit with ability to connect with diverse community.

Responsibilities

• Managing a caseload of technical support requests submitted via phone, email, and the school’s ticketing system.
• Supporting schoolwide use of student information and learning management systems.
• Creating and maintaining complex spreadsheets and reporting dashboards for data needs.
• Supporting schoolwide use of Google Workspace software.
• Managing user accounts across multiple software platforms; configuring and updating support resources.
• Developing and leading training sessions for faculty, staff, and students.
• Configuring, imaging, deploying, and inventorying school-owned devices.
• Troubleshooting classroom AV technology issues.
• Facilitating repairs with third-party vendors and monitoring warranty work.
