Job summary

Waiʻalae School seeks a Technology & Communications Specialist to lead planning, implementation, and support of technology systems and digital communications. You will help ensure equitable access and secure, reliable tech for teaching, learning, and administration.

You will also manage the school’s web and social media presence, advise on messaging, and coordinate with staff and vendors to support procurement, budgeting, and ISTE-aligned initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: Associate's degree or higher in IT, communications, education tech, or related field.
• Two+ years in technology support, systems admin, or digital communications in school/nonprofit settings.
• Knowledge of school tech systems and data privacy regulations (FERPA/COPPA).
• Proficiency in Google Workspace, MS Office, and web/social platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, implementation, and support of school's technology systems.
• Manage school website and social media presence and messaging.
• Coordinate with staff on technology integration for teaching and admin tasks.
• Ensure data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance.
• Advise on communications tone, style, and branding across stakeholders.
• Support procurement, vendor relations, and budget planning for tech.
• Provide professional development for teachers on tech integration.
