Job summary

Rochester Public Schools is seeking a Special Education ESP to provide school-based support for students with disabilities. The role involves implementing aspects of the student's IEP under certified supervision, offering instructional support, and assisting with behavior management and data collection.

Responsibilities include collaboration with teachers, occasional at-home or in-building service delivery, and ensuring accurate progress reporting.

Qualifications

• 60 college credits and/or a two-year degree from an accredited college or university. Include official transcript with application.
• In lieu of college credits or degree, the Paraeducator Assessments may be completed; passing scores are 65% and 70%.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience working with elementary age students is preferred.
• Computer skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support and assist with implementing IEP under supervision of certified staff.
• Assist with behavior management, data collection, and communicating progress to teachers and related staff.
• May provide services at home or report in person to a school building as needed.
• Monitor and supervise students in lunchroom and playground in all weather.
• Support students with de-escalation techniques and assist with personal cares as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively with staff.
