Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional to support teachers and students in classrooms, small groups, and during field activities. This anticipated vacancy may start as a Long-Term Substitute if not filled by the start of the school year.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, 48 college credits or an associate degree or pass ParaPro/WorkKeys, plus at least two years working with young children and authorization to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 48 credit hours or an Associate's degree, or passing ParaPro/WorkKeys assessment.
• Two years of experience working with young children.
• Authorized to work in the United States by start date.

Responsibilities

• Supports direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings.
• Provides assistance with classroom activities.
• Prepares instructional materials.
• Assists in classroom set up and clean up.
• Manages individual and classroom behavior using prescribed approaches.
• Supervises students on field trip activities.
• Performs other related duties as requested by Head of School/Principal.
