Brookings School District 05-1 is seeking an Instructional Assistant Level 1 at Brookings High School - Credit Recovery Classroom. The role supports certified staff, assists in delivering instructional activities, and helps maintain a positive learning environment.

Position offers 7.5 hours per day aligned with the school calendar, with benefits including health/dental premiums paid (75%), life insurance up to $25,000, and retirement benefits.

Qualificações

• Knowledge of basic concepts of child growth and development; developmental behavior characteristics.
• Knowledge of student behavior management strategies and techniques.
• Knowledge of appropriate English usage, punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
• Knowledge of basic arithmetical concepts.
• Knowledge of routine record management, storage, and retrieval systems and procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Assist instructional personnel with the presentation of learning materials and in the conduct of instructional exercises.
• Tutor individual students and small groups to reinforce and follow up learning activities.
• Monitor and assist students in drill, practice, and study activities following instructional concepts.
• Direct students in safe learning activities and help shape appropriate social behaviors.
• Assist in managing student behavior through positive strategies and techniques.
• Prepare instructional materials and learning aids for use with individuals or small groups.
• Maintain records and files including confidential student information.
• Operate and assist students in operating instructional media machines and equipment.
• Administer and score tests and record results as needed.
• Requisition and store textbooks, materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Provide routine first aid and seek assistance for non-routine injuries.
• Contribute to an orderly, attractive, and positive learning environment.
• Participate in parent conferences and other progress report activities.
