Job summary

DEFTEC Corporation seeks an Education Program Manager to oversee Government-approved K‑12 and adult learning programs, coordinating curriculum alignment, staff supervision, and field-trip logistics.

You will work across onsite and offsite learning initiatives, collaborating with partners to align hands-on lessons with NGSS, and supervise volunteers and staff to ensure high-quality educational experiences for school groups and community audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Museum Studies, Public History, or STEM is required.
• Tier 1/NACI Background Clearance will be obtained by the candidate at hire.
• 4–6 years of progressive museum education, curriculum development, or education program administration experience.
• Proven ability to interact professionally with school administrators, community groups, and military liaisons.
• Flexible schedule to oversee programs during weekends, school breaks, and special events.
• Strong knowledge of NGSS and translating frameworks into hands-on lessons.
• Experience supervising and mentoring instructional staff and managing educational supplies.
• Experience coordinating field trips with regional school districts and community groups.

Responsibilities

• Curriculum delivery and alignment of Government-approved K‑12 and adult programs.
• Staff supervision of Educational Program Assistants and volunteers with coaching and quality control.
• Coordinate school field trips, schedules, and group flow.
• Manage educational materials within approved funding and supply limits.
• Coordinate with Volunteer Manager to train docents and volunteers.
