Our dedicated, experienced, and talented employees work closely with our clients to ensure the delivery of exceptional services and products.

Position Overview:

The Education Program Manager oversees the successful delivery of Government‑approved K‑12 and adult learning programs by coordinating curriculum implementation, supervising instructional staff and volunteers, and ensuring high‑quality educational experiences for visiting school groups and community audiences. This role serves as the operational lead for field trip logistics, manages educational resources and safety standards, and collaborates closely with partners to align hands‑on lessons with established curriculum frameworks such as NGSS. Drawing on extensive experience in museum education, staff leadership, and community outreach, the Education Program Manager supports both onsite and offsite learning initiatives while maintaining the flexibility required to run programs during weekends, breaks, and special events.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Delivery and Alignment: Implement Government-approved K-12 and adult educational programs and recommend improvements for Government review.
  • Staff Supervision: Oversee the daily delivery of educational sessions led by Educational Program Assistants and volunteers, providing coaching, feedback, and quality control.
  • School & Group Logistics: Act as the operational coordinator for incoming school field trips, coordinating schedules, greeting classes, and managing group flow.
  • Resource Stewardship: Manage setup, safety, inventory, and use of educational materials within approved funding and supply limits. Contractor personnel shall not obligate Government funds.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Work with the Volunteer Manager to train docents and volunteers to assist in executing STEM and history programs.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Education, Museum Studies, Public History, or a STEM discipline is required (a Master's degree may be considered a plus but is not a requirement).
  • A Tier 1/NACI Background Clearance will be obtained by the candidate at hire and must successfully complete and clear the process.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in museum education, curriculum development, or education program administration.
  • Interpersonal Leadership: Proven ability to interact professionally with school administrators, community groups, and military liaisons.
  • Availability: Schedule flexibility to oversee educational programs during weekends, school breaks, and special evening events.
  • Knowledge and Experience:
  • Educational Partnerships: Success in coordinating field trips and educational programs with regional school districts, homeschool networks, and community groups.
  • Curriculum Implementation: Deep knowledge of curriculum frameworks (such as Next Generation Science Standards [NGSS]) and translating them into hands‑on museum lessons.
  • Department Management: Experience supervising and mentoring instructional staff, tracking schedules, and managing educational supplies.
  • Community Outreach: Experience executing mobile or off-site education initiatives targeting diverse or remote school groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Maritime/Coast Guard History: General knowledge of USCG history, search and rescue, and marine science missions to facilitate program delivery.
  • Educational Tech: Familiarity with learning tools, science labs, and interactive maker spaces.
