Job summary

The Supreme Court of Ohio, Office of the Judicial College, seeks an Education Program Manager E-Learning to design, develop, implement, and administer online curricula using the LMS.

Responsibilities include course development, maintenance, needs assessment, evaluation, LMS support, budget management, and integrating new technology for judicial education. Requires degree in instructional design and at least two years of online education experience; Columbus-based.

Qualifications

  • Requires bachelor’s degree in instructional design, adult learning, education, instructional technology, business or public administration, or related field.
  • Advanced degree in same fields strongly preferred.
  • Requires two years experience in online, live, blended, and/or hybrid educational programs for adults using adult learning principles and instructional design methods.
  • Experience in a legal field and/or environment preferred.

Agency Overview

The Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking to fill the position of Education Program Manager E-Learning in the Office of the Judicial College. The Education Program Manager E-Learning is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and administering curricula for all audiences of the Supreme Court of Ohio Judicial College, with a focus on online courses to be administered and/or delivered through the College’s Learning Management System (LMS).

Job Description

What You'll Do: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Online Course Development: Plans, designs, and develops online courses; Writes scripts, creates visuals, develops interactive tasks, and edits audio/video content; Ensures courses meet College design standards.
  • Course Maintenance: Maintains online courses, ensuring functionality and quality by analyzing feedback, making revisions, and tracking updates.
  • Needs Assessment: Conducts needs assessments with Court staff, faculty, and experts to design courses for specific populations; Identifies faculty, forms planning committees, and handles accreditation and credit requests.
  • Evaluation and Improvement: Analyzes participant evaluations, shares feedback with leadership, and uses results to refine future courses.
  • LMS Support: Assists in course set-up, testing, and troubleshooting within the Learning Management System (LMS); Responds to inquiries and complaints related to course functionality.
  • Budget and Financial Management: Estimates costs, negotiates faculty fees, monitors expenses, and ensures alignment with financial plans; Analyzes trends and projects future financial needs.
  • Technological Support: Plans, facilitates, and troubleshoots informational technology and audiovisual equipment at live educational events; Continuously integrates new technology into course development.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Course Development: Ability to design, deliver, and evaluate courses, including needs assessments, learning objectives, outlines, and collaborating with faculty on content and teaching methods.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office, e-learning tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline), and Adobe Creative Cloud (image, audio, and video editing); Experience with SCORM for LMS deployment and familiarity with AV equipment.
  • Microsoft Office: Proficiency in Words, Excel, PowerPoint and related applications.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with all levels of the Court and its constituents.
  • Project Management: Ability to apply the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including but not limited to computers and phones. The employee may be required to move about the office and building. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly be required to communicate and exchange information, including but not limited to research and writing.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Requires ability to work extended hours as needed and to travel on Court business is required, including overnight stays.

Valid driver’s license is required.

Supplemental Information

Supplemental Information: This is an exempt unclassified position that reports to the Senior Education Program Manager. The salary range is $97,000-$110,000.
