Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Texas Educational Aide Certificate required.
• Two years of college (48 semester hours) or associate’s degree or equivalent demonstration of reading/writing/mathematics assistance ability.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom and support safety.
• Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Support teachers with administrative records and reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with physical disabilities, including transfers and positioning as needed.
• Help manage student behavior and intervene in crises when necessary.
• Adapt to individual student needs and develop motor skills in small groups.
• Supervise students during the school day including lunchroom, bus, and playground.
• Maintain confidentiality and participate in staff development.
