Job summary

Comal ISD is seeking a 26/27 Special Education Paraprofessional to support New Braunfels classrooms in Texas. The role involves assisting in the implementation of instructional programs, managing behavior, and helping with material preparation under the supervision of certified staff.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, a Texas Educational Aide Certificate, and at least two years of college or an associate degree or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED and a valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate.
• Completion of at least two years of college or an associate’s degree or demonstrated equivalent.
• Experience with children and ability to assist in instruction and behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementation of classroom programs including self-help, behavior management, and instruction.
• Help prepare instructional materials and classroom displays; maintain orderly classroom.
• Assist with inventory, care and maintenance of equipment and with records/reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Supervise students during the day including lunch, bus, and yard duties.
• Support students with physical disabilities as needed, including transfers and positioning.
