Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 per licensure requirements.
• Be able to provide formal proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for positions requiring driving).
• Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions.
• Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening.

Responsibilities

• Ensures client is punctual to class by meeting client at designated area and time before school starts.
• Remains awake and engaged at all times – competently supervising and monitoring the clients. Never leaving clients unattended unless permitted for periods of time based on a client’s Individual Education Plan.
• Effectively responds to and manages crises, including client aggression, using verbal intervention or physical management techniques.
• Participates in programs designed to aid in habilitation, training and treatments of clients.
• Implements Individual Education Plans and behavior management plans to reduce maladaptive behaviors and promote positive social behaviors.
