Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support each student's academic and social-emotional well-being.
  • Promote positive behavior supports and inclusive practices throughout the school day.

Job description

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by taking on a rewarding full-time contract role as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school environment near Indianapolis, Indiana. This is an exciting opportunity to work with either a resource program serving 25-30 students or an essential program supporting a caseload of 10 students. Select the setting that best matches your expertise and preferences. The workweek is Monday through Friday, with a consistent daily schedule from 8:20 AM to 3:10 PM (subject to change depending on classroom assignment), totaling 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:
  • Valid Indiana Special Education license required
  • Certification in either Mild Intervention (for resource roles) or Intense Intervention (for essential roles)
  • Previous experience working with students in a special education resource or essential setting preferred
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational abilities
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment
