The Education Manager reports to TCA’s Chief Executive Officer and manages the association’s professional development programs to include the development, planning, review, and scheduling of continuing education programs, workshops, conference learning institutes, leadership training, and provides support for division and chapter events. This role will collaborate with content experts to ensure continuous improvement of programs, enhanced learning, drive the strategic direction of learning opportunities, and engage members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and manage all education programs and deliver the strategy to position TCA as the education resource for all counselors.
- Provide technical support and annual training to TCA, chapter, and division leadership and committees and provide timelines, requirements for approval, and the benefits of TCA co-sponsorship of programs.
- Identify prospective industry partnerships and work with subject matter experts to develop content for education programs, counselor education road maps to support career paths.
- Deliver training to TCA divisions, chapters, the Program Review Committee, and content reviewers to adhere to regulatory guidelines, approval requirements, timelines, and to promote the benefits of co-sponsored programming.
- Oversee leadership programs and work in partnership with the leadership resources manager to identify opportunities and resources to support professional development for volunteer leaders.
- Collaborate with TCA staff and volunteer leaders to manage online conference submissions and selections including reviewer assignments, program evaluations, presenter confirmations, and conference schedules.
- Manage and coordinate class registrations, the Program Review Committee’s work to review chapter and division CE requests and approval, scheduling, hosting, and delivery and receipt of registration reports for in-person and online professional development programs and events.
- Manage efforts to establish and build the TCA Speaker’s Bureau.
- Maintain the TCA professional development calendar.
- Collaborate with member subject matter experts, public policy analyst, and marketing teams to promote the value of professional counseling to members, policymakers, and the general public.
- Partner with TCA coalitions to develop strategies to maintain high professional standards for and access to professional counselors and provide testimony before legislative and regulatory board hearings as needed.
- Remain current on and promote changes in policy, practice, and research trends in professional counseling through active participation at state and national conferences, regulatory board meetings, and legislative hearings in support of counselor education.
- Identify, review and approve third party articles that support professional development for members.
- Work in concert with the Events Manager to plan and execute the TCA Professional Growth Conference, the Professional School Counselor Conference, and other division conferences.
- Manage conference session details, speaker information, and presentation materials, and attendee resource pages in coordination with the conferences department.
- Review speaker expense reimbursements for accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
- Serve as staff liaison to assigned TCA committees.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Five years or more of related experience in association management, similar business, or industry.
- Proficient with database management systems, LMS experience preferred, Office 365, including Excel, Teams, Zoom.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledgeable of professional development requirements for counselors in an array of settings a plus.
- Positive and approachable team player willing to take on duties outside those described herein.
- Ability to travel within Texas as needed.
Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:
Ability to engage in frequent public contact. Professional attire may be required for most public-facing work. Ability to work in or from a remote location or from a home-based office as needed. This position will require availability for some evenings and weekend meetings and occasional travel to conferences and other member events. Willingness and availability for calls, meetings, and some project deadlines outside of normal business hours, when needed, due to the volunteer schedules.
