Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a Part-Time Lead Teacher with a ministry focus to support the program director in hiring, training, and managing LifeWise teachers.

The role requires at least two years of classroom teaching and active church involvement in alignment with LifeWise Academy’s faith statement. The candidate should demonstrate mature faith and dedication to the LifeWise mission.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of classroom teaching experience in a school or church setting.
• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in a local church whose doctrine aligns with LifeWise Academy’s Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Plan Curriculum: determine which LifeWise lessons will be taught during each school year; ensure consistency in expectations, procedures, curriculum and LifeWise mission; provide teachers with curriculum and supplemental materials.
• Train and Observe Teachers: organize a teacher training day each year; lead regular teacher meetings; assist the program director in observing teachers; coordinate training opportunities with LifeWise Support Center; participate in LifeWise Summit.
• Create and Maintain Records: create classroom schedules; maintain accurate rosters including health concerns and special needs; assist in policies and procedures.
• Communicate: represent LifeWise teachers at Leadership Board meetings; visit program classes to provide support; build relationships with volunteers; submit updates and photos to the program director.
• Other Duties: assist the program director in other responsibilities as needed.
