Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a part-time Lead Teacher to support the program director in hiring, training and managing LifeWise teachers. The role emphasizes curriculum planning, teacher development and ensuring alignment with the LifeWise mission.

The position requires at least two years of classroom teaching, a mature Christian faith aligned with our Statement of Faith, and active involvement in a local church.

Qualifications

• Two years of classroom teaching experience in a school or church setting.
• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Plan Curriculum: Determine which LifeWise lessons will be taught during each school year; keep all teachers and classes consistent with expectations, procedures, processes, curriculum and LifeWise mission; work with the program director to provide teachers with curriculum and supplemental materials.
• Train and Observe Teachers: Organize a teacher training day at the start of each school year; lead regular teacher meetings to maintain consistency; assist the program director in observing teachers; attend virtual and in-person training opportunities; participate in LifeWise Summit.
• Create and Maintain Records: Create classroom schedules and coordinate changes; maintain accurate class rosters including health concerns and special needs; assist the director in developing program policies.
• Communicate: Represent LifeWise teachers at Leadership Board meetings; visit program classes to provide support; build relationships with volunteers; submit updates and photos to the program director.
• Other Duties: Assist the program director in other responsibilities as needed.
