Job summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia invites applications for the position of Assistant Attorney General, Education. This role focuses on delivering legal services to education agencies reporting to the Secretary of Education and collaborating with other Section attorneys to support state agencies under the Secretary of Education.

Based in the Office of the Attorney General, the attorney may provide other legal services to the Commonwealth as directed. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Excellent analytical abilities and written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and high level organizational skills.
• Admission to the Virginia Bar is required before beginning employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a wide variety of legal services to education agencies reporting to the Secretary of Education.
• Work with other Section attorneys to support state agencies that report to the Secretary of Education.
• Provide other legal services to the Commonwealth as directed by the Office of the Attorney General.
• Some travel may be required.
