Job summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia, Office of the Attorney General, Environmental Section seeks an Assistant Attorney General to provide legal support to state natural resources agencies, advise on environmental and administrative matters, and represent the Commonwealth in court.

The role requires at least one year of relevant experience, Virginia Bar admission, strong drafting and advocacy skills, and the ability to handle complex environmental matters across civil, administrative, and transactional

Qualifications

• Virginia State Bar admission required.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience, including trial work.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent written and oral communication, drafting and analytical skills.
• Practice areas may include environmental, administrative, wildlife, energy, and transactional law.

Responsibilities

• Advise and represent state natural resources agencies.
• Research and draft pleadings for civil, criminal, and appellate courts.
• Appear in court on behalf of the Environmental Section.
