Job summary

Davenport Community Schools is seeking a Network Administrator to oversee district IT networks and security, including Microsoft 365, AD, DNS, and firewall protection. The role emphasizes compliance with FERPA, COPPA, and CIPA, plus ongoing cybersecurity initiatives.

Reporting to the IT Director, the administrator will work with admins, technicians, and vendors to maintain and secure district networks and services while ensuring reliable operations for staff and students.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience in a technology environment.
• Licenses and/or certifications in CISSP, ITIL, CISM, CEH, IAM, SSL, CCNP, PMP.
• Programming automations with PowerShell to help manage network systems and user accounts.
• Experience with IT Operations, Network Administration and Security.

Responsibilities

• This position reports to the Director of Information Technology and collaborates with Network Administrators, Service Delivery Manager, IT Technicians, and external vendors.
• Maintain understanding of network security protocols and data flow to uphold FERPA, COPPA, and CIPA compliance.
• Manage and support networks including Microsoft 365, Intune, AD, DNS, DHCP, routers, switches, wireless systems, and IP phone.
• Monitor network device status and assist other admins with daily management and troubleshooting.
• Maintain documentation and develop district-wide cybersecurity tools and phishing simulations.
