Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco is seeking an Education Director to lead all academic programs for youth ages 6 to 18. You will supervise staff, manage the Learning Center, and build partnerships with schools and community organizations to promote academic success and post-secondary planning.

You will oversee literacy and tutoring initiatives, coordinate with program partners, and ensure program quality through regular check-ins.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of classroom teaching experience in traditional or non-traditional settings.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Strong classroom management, behavior intervention, and discipline skills.
• Experience in curriculum development and working with school systems and educational advocacy.
• Experience serving youth from diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds (grades 1–12).
• Excellent oral, written, and organizational communication skills.
• Valid Class B driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 90 days) to transport youth in BGCSF vehicles.
• Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).

Responsibilities

• Lead academic programs serving youth ages 6 to 18 under supervision.
• Supervise the Education Program Leader and manage Learning Center operations.
• Build partnerships with local schools and community organizations.
• Coordinate and oversee after-school literacy and tutoring initiatives.
• Ensure meaningful educational activities promote academic success and high school completion.
