Job summary

Lane College seeks an Assistant Professor of Education and Education Department Chair to provide academic leadership for the Education Department and Educator Preparation Program. The role combines departmental leadership with undergraduate teaching and student mentorship to align with state and national standards.

You will lead curriculum development, oversee accreditation activities, and guide program assessment while teaching and advising aspiring educators in a supportive, diverse campus

Qualifications

• PhD in Education or related field, or a master's with substantial professional experience.
• Teaching experience in P–12 or higher education settings.
• Knowledge of Tennessee Department of Education standards and accreditation processes.
• Experience in program design, curriculum development, and educational leadership.
• Experience using and integrating technology in and beyond the classroom.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse collegiate community.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate education courses with emphasis on pedagogy and field supervision.
• Advise and mentor education students to support progress and professional preparation.
• Lead departmental strategic planning and curriculum development.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and coordinate reporting.
• Develop partnerships with school districts and community stakeholders.
• Engage in scholarly activities and represent Lane College at conferences.
