Job summary

LeTourneau University invites applications for the Chair and Associate/Full Professor of Education in the Department of Teacher Education. The role is tenure-track with rank negotiable and involves leadership of both residential and online programs within CEAS.

The candidate should hold an Ed.D. or Ph.D. in education, have Texas teaching certification, and demonstrate effective leadership in higher education and EC-12 settings. Travel and flexible hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in education (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) from an accredited university.
• Ability to teach a wide range of education courses such as science of teaching reading or education methods.
• Valid Texas teacher certificate (or eligible) with minimum three years EC-12 public-school teaching experience.
• Principal certification strongly desired.
• Experience with programs leading to initial/professional teaching certifications via state exams.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching using evidence-based practices.
• Experience with EC-12 partnerships and clinical practice in teacher education.
• Leadership experience in higher education and/or EC-12 environments.
• Knowledge of Texas Education Agency accreditation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of the Teacher Education Program per TEA and certification requirements.
• Oversee residential and online programs and teach courses as needed.
• Recruit and retain students; ensure curriculum quality and alignment with CEAS goals.
• Develop strategies and inspire faculty and staff toward the department mission.
• Collaborate with CEAS dean and campus leaders to advance educator preparation and workforce development.
• Manage department resources, budgeting, and stakeholder communications.
• Foster collegiality and promote a positive team environment.
• Support enrollment growth and curricular effectiveness through innovative practices.
