Job summary

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Education or closely related field required or Master’s with substantial professional experience.
• Demonstrated teaching experience in P–12 or higher education.
• Knowledge of Tennessee Department of Education standards and accreditation.
• Experience in program design, curriculum development, and educational leadership.
• Experience or ability to work with diverse collegiate community; technology in and beyond the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Lead departmental strategic planning to align education programs with current practices and student needs.
• Direct curriculum development and program evaluation to strengthen teacher education quality and relevance.
• Ensure compliance with TDOE standards and accreditation processes.
• Teach undergraduate education courses with emphasis on pedagogy, curriculum, or field supervision.
• Advise and mentor education students to support academic progress and professional prep.
• Oversee departmental operations including faculty collaboration and budget planning.
• Develop partnerships with P–12 districts and stakeholders; pursue grants for initiatives.
