Job summary

Florida Department of Education is seeking a Systems Programming Consultant to develop and maintain SQL/SAS queries, analyze large education datasets, and produce accurate reports to support data-driven decisions. The role supports postsecondary and PK-12 reporting, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.

The ideal candidate will have an associate degree with experience in database querying and a strong knowledge of data management, quality, and reporting best practices.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics or related field with two years of experience in writing database queries or statistics.
• Strong preference for SAS and/or SQL experience.
• Experience with large datasets and education data is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and optimize SQL and SAS queries for standard and ad hoc reporting with high accuracy.
• Analyze large education datasets to answer policy-relevant questions.
• Produce timely reports for leadership and external stakeholders and support federal reporting requirements.
• Maintain documentation, data marts, and validation practices with a focus on data integrity.
• Communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences and support end-user queries.
