Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to develop and maintain the district’s data infrastructure. You will work with cross-functional teams to build an enterprise data model and data pipelines, enabling powerful analytics for K-12 programs.

You will leverage SQL, Python/R, and BI tools to deliver accurate insights, while collaborating on cloud adoption and governance across district systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, STEM, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of data analysis and/or engineering in a K-12 educational system or related field.
• Experience with SQL, Python or R, and data visualization tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of a cohesive enterprise-wide data model for the district.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and transformation processes.
• Collaborate with educators and IT to drive data-driven decisions.
• Ensure data quality, security, and governance across systems.
• Produce dashboards and reports using PowerBI/Tableau.
