Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers is seeking a Data Collections Manager in Virginia to lead the data services team, oversee collection and reporting of performance indicators, and ensure accurate, timely information for state and federal programs. The role requires strong data skills and the ability to coordinate across divisions.

You will guide analysts, develop reporting processes, and communicate requirements to school divisions while representing the agency at local, state, and national levels.

Qualifications

• Experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting education performance measures.
• Experience leading a team and providing clear instructions and training.
• Ability to manage multiple education reporting projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with Excel, TOAD, and SQL for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight to the student data collections team.
• Develop recommendations for collecting student-level data for state and federal indicators.
• Ensure consistent data collections with clear communication and documentation.
• Analyze and report education data using multiple methods and tools.
• Lead data quality efforts with testing plans and validation tools.
• Support Virginia school divisions by communicating reporting requirements.
• Represent the Department at various levels with stakeholders.
