Senior Supervisor Business Data Analyst role with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) in Richmond, VA, supporting data-driven decision-making and program performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of data analysts supporting assigned program areas and daily data activities.
- Direct analysts in applying business knowledge and technical expertise to build tools that enable data-driven decisions.
- Oversee development of reporting to track program performance and improve daily workflows and products in accordance with state and federal regulations and policies.
- Address ad-hoc information requests and support programmatic analysis, reporting, and data management.
- Act as the technical liaison with ITD.
- Ensure reporting and analytical systems comply with requirements by assessing risks, auditing, and reconciling system activities.
- Oversee creation of business reporting tools and analysis needed for Division business functions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and initiatives to maintain consistency, performance, and reliability of analytical tools developed by others.
- Manage escalated customer support situations when required.
- Participate in building multi-functional teams to create new processes or enhance existing processes; document procedures and business rules, including serving as Division point of contact with ITD.
- Promote innovation among staff to develop new products and services.
- Manage projects to meet business goals and outcomes, including scoping, scheduling, resource planning, communication, and delivery of required outputs.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and/or provide management support for special projects and initiatives.
