Job summary

The Maryland State Department of Education is seeking a Data and Analysis Specialist to provide programmatic support in data management and reporting within the Performance Reporting and Accountability Branch. You will ensure data quality, validate datasets, and prepare report-ready data for ESSA, the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future, and related laws.

Responsibilities include designing and managing SAS datasets, maintaining reporting functions, analyzing data for federal/state requirements,

Qualifications

Master’s degree or the equivalent of 36 credit hours from an accredited college or university.
Four years of professional experience in data analysis; education experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Design, create, and manage SAS datasets.
Ensure quality, validity, and usability of data.
Create, modify, and update SAS code or other programming languages to reflect data collection changes.
Create, maintain, and support reporting functions.
Analyze data for federal or state reporting requirements.
Provide education data and analyses in response to ad-hoc inquiries.
Provide expertise and technical support to MSDE staff and local education agencies.
