Job summary

Metropolitan State University of Denver seeks an Education Coordinator and Advisor for the TRIO Upward Bound program to plan, develop, implement and deliver instructional services for high school students. You will coordinate seminars, study skills, and college readiness coursework while advising a cohort of participants and coordinating recruitment efforts.

The role supports university staff, supervises student mentors, and contributes to data collection and evaluation of program outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, human services, social work, sociology or related field.
• Experience with urban youth in TRIO or similar pre-collegiate educational outreach program.
• Experience providing academic intervention and instructional support to youth.
• Experience providing program development and coordination support.
• Experience providing supervision to employees.
• Knowledge or experience working under FERPA and confidentiality standards.

Responsibilities

• 35% – Develop and deliver after-school instructional support and seminars to promote college readiness.
• 25% – Provide academic and college counseling to Upward Bound participants and coordinate Individual Education Plans.
• 20% – Build school and community partnerships to support recruitment and student success.
• 10% – Supervise university student staff and mentor program mentors.
• 5% – Collect data, evaluate outcomes, and report program progress.
• 5% – Perform other duties as assigned.
