Metropolitan State University of Denver seeks an Education Coordinator and Advisor for the TRIO Upward Bound program to plan, develop, implement and deliver instructional services for high school students. You will coordinate seminars, study skills, and college readiness coursework while advising a cohort of participants and coordinating recruitment efforts.
The role supports university staff, supervises student mentors, and contributes to data collection and evaluation of program outcomes.
MSU Denver’s TRIO Upward Bound program serves first generation, under-resourced college bound students by generating the skills and motivation necessary to complete high school and to enter and succeed in a program of post-secondary education. The Education Coordinator and Advisor supports the planning, development, implementation and delivery of program instruction and services related to the individual academic development needs, as well as building skill mastery for all TRIO High School Upward Bound participants. The position provides educational and college preparatory services to assist high school students by developing curriculum and delivering supplemental instruction, including delivery of seminars around study skills, SAT test-taking strategies, and other college readiness subjects. In addition, the position serves as an advisor for a cohort of high school participants, provides coordination around recruitment, serves as a community liaison to support service learning, supervises University student staff and contributes to the data collection and evaluation of program services. This position reports to the Director and is funded through a federal grant. IND208 This is a grant funded position. Continuation of the role is contingent upon the renewal of the grant or the availability of additional funding. This grant runs on a 5 year cycle and the grant is currently on its 5th year.
Full Time, 40 hours per week, Exempt Monday – Friday, 8am - 5pm Evening and Weekend Work: As Needed Hybrid schedule (on-campus and remote) available for this position. Travel: As Needed
We anticipate the qualified candidate to be placed between $47,300 - $52,000. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. Additionally, the Enrollment and Student Affairs branch has committed to tying our salaries to an understanding of a living wage. To that end, we will not pay less than $47,300. The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
