Job summary

The University of Minnesota – Twin Cities is seeking a part-time educator to teach a high school course as part of the TRIO Upward Bound program. Instructors will deliver weekly sessions, coordinate with a Teaching Assistant, and prepare lessons aligned with the Minneapolis Public School calendar.

Responsibilities include curriculum development, attendance tracking, and student progress documentation, with required staff trainings and orientation.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required.
• Experience with direct classroom instruction.
• Experience working with diverse, multicultural/multilingual and/or urban high school students.
• Available Oct–May and aligned with Minneapolis Public School calendar.
• Ability to develop and deliver content for varied backgrounds and abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with people from diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Teach the designated high school course at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, aligned with Minneapolis School District calendar.
• Develop and update curriculum; prepare weekly lesson plans with differentiated instruction.
• Assess student growth, monitor attendance, and document progress.
• Supervise one undergraduate Teaching Assistant (TA).
• Attend required staff trainings and other duties as assigned.
