Job summary

Metropolitan State University of Denver seeks an Education Coordinator and Advisor for the TRIO Upward Bound program. The role delivers instructional services, develops curriculum, and advises a cohort of high school students to promote four-year college readiness.

It also coordinates recruitment, supports service-learning activities, supervises student staff, and contributes to data collection and evaluation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in education, psychology, human services, social work, sociology or related field.
• Experience with urban youth in TRIO or similar pre-collegiate programs.
• Experience providing academic intervention and instructional support to youth.
• Experience providing program development and coordination support.
• Experience supervising employees.
• Knowledge of FERPA and confidentiality standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver supplemental instruction and seminars for college readiness.
• Advise Upward Bound participants; conduct needs assessments and support IEPs.
• Coordinate recruitment and outreach; liaise with schools and community organizations.
• Supervise university student staff serving as mentors in the summer program.
• Collect and analyze program data; assist in evaluating outcomes and delivering reports.
